Our teachers are the key to doing what we do well.  We employ experienced teachers, and teachers in training, as permanent staff members.  This allows us to invest in our team's professional development and gives children the continuity they need to feel happy and secure.  Meet our teachers below, or feel free to come in person to chat through your child's needs and get to know us better.

Anita – Owner/Centre Manager

I started in the early childhood field with my own three boys - now all grown up! I was a Playcentre mum and after my youngest started school, I went on to gain a formal qualification as an early childhood teacher.

I believe that children learn through play and they learn best when a skilled adult is there to support them in their play. I also love seeing children’s eyes open to the wonderful world we live in - whether it’s snuggled up on the couch with a favourite book, watching ants in the grass or getting wet and muddy in the sand pit! Teaching young children is a privilege and a pleasure.

Vani - Teacher, Under 2s

Kia Ora,

I am from Malaysia and a mother of two girls. I am passionate about children; I love and nurture every one of them in my care. I believe children learn best by playing and having the freedom to explore the rich and diverse multicultural environment that New Zealand has to offer. I also believe that children need encouragement, praise, support and love to be confident learners.

I am currently studying for my Level 5 Diploma in ECE. Having the opportunity to support children during this crucial period of their development is a joy for me. In the process, they also teach us, which is one of the best parts of working at Red Kite.

Lina - Teacher, Toddlers

Kia Ora,

I am born and raised in New Zealand but my parents are originally from Samoa. I am a mother of four. My family is very important to me; my family and my job are my lifeline.

My journey in early childhood education started with my nephew.  He is dealing with autism, which made me wonder how I could help his play and learning through his perspective by educating myself in this field. This led me to work as a support worker with Crippled Children Society (CCS). I enjoy setting up provocations for the children so I can spark their interest and curiosity and lead them to explore their environment.

Sheetal - Qualified Teacher

Namaste,

I am from Haryana, India. My career in the teaching field started in India, where I was a Secondary Mathematics teacher. I pursued a Bachelor of Education, where my interest grew in the Early Childhood Education sector. This interest brought me to New Zealand in 2022 to undertake a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (ECE).

The foremost element of my teaching philosophy is communication, as I believe it helps in building trusting relationships with children, whānau and colleagues.  I also believe in respecting the cultural values and perspectives of everyone around me.  In my spare time I like to listen to Indian music and cook.

Judy - Owner/Manager

Judy is the one staff member not on the teaching team.  Her background is a business one and she runs the administration aspects of the Centre.
